About the Pediatricians - Bios
Dr. Schoenwetter and Dr.
Stern have been partners in a pediatric practice for over 10 years. Together,
they have over 50 years experience in working with newborns and have
expertise in what new parents need to know. They have both been honored
as Pediatrician of the Year in their community and helped create
Newborncare101.com to guide parents through the newborn experience.
 Michael A. Schoenwetter, M.D. - "Dr.
Mike"
Michael
was born and raised in California and has never left. His higher
education has all been through the University of California system -
Bachelor of Science with honors from UCLA, his MD degree from University
of California at Irvine and his pediatric training at UCLA. He was
honored to be appointed chief resident for his final and extra year of
pediatric training.
He has been practicing pediatrics and
helping parents with newborn care in a suburb of Los Angeles for over 10
years. He is married and has a six year old son and a three year old
daughter. He
enjoys golf, football and family time.
 Loraine Stern, M.D.
Loraine
was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She was born at the University
of Chicago Hospital and went to college and medical school there as
well. She finally left to warm up and did her pediatric residency at
UCLA. She has been
helping parents with newborn care for over 40 years in a suburb of Los
Angeles. She is a clinical professor of pediatrics at UCLA. She has
authored 2 books for parents, has edited the American Academy of
Pediatrics Guide to Your Child's Nutrition, wrote a feature for 20 years
for Woman's Day magazine and writes for Procter and Gamble's website
Pampers.com. She has made numerous television and radio appearances
talking about children's health.
She is a widow with 2 stepchildren and has
many grandpatients but not even a green plant in her home that she needs
to be responsible for.
Dr. Schoenwetter and Dr. Stern are both
practicing physicians at
Valencia Pediatrics.
